470 Financial and Efficacy Analysis of a Centralised Neck of Femur Fracture Service

Abstract Aim Osteoporotic fractures are rising in incidence, costing the National Health Service up to £1.1 billion for hospital care. The implementation of Best Practice Tariff (BPT) fragility 2010 created a financial incentive achieve standards best practice. In June 2015, dedicated hip fracture unit (HFU) was set at Princess Royal Hospital (PRH). aim this study is (A) assess changes performance BPT after introduction HFU, and (B) whether HFU affected by direct/indirect presentation HFU. Method Brighton Sussex University Hospitals (BSUH) pre post assessed retrospective review data between 2015 2016. 870 patients who were treated NOFF BSUH reviewed impacted presenting either directly (PRH) or indirectly (presentation County Hospital). Appropriate statistical tests used analyse significant differences these outcome measures.
